Kanye ‘s sunday services: “Will Jesus walk till the end?”
Popular American rapper, songwriter and producer, Kanye West is currently engrossed deeply in practicing Christianity.
Releasing a gospel album “Jesus is King” and setting an almost unreachable standards for wife, Kim Kardashian and their kids.
Organising “Sunday Services” every sunday in different locations with a large choir, celebrities and a huge crowd worshiping God.
Kanye West does secular music
West started his musical career as a producer for Roc-A-Fella record label in the early 2000s. He was known for producing singles for artists such as Alicia Keys, Ludacris and Jay-Z whom he had a fallout with last year claiming the music producer was going to send his “Killas” at him.
In 2002, West was signed to Roc-A-Fella records by Damon Dash, the label head, who stated that he signed him reluctantly because they saw West as a producer and not an artiste.
Two years later, West dropped his first rap album “College dropout” with the theme – “make your own decisions, do not allow society instruct you on what to do”. The album was successful.
The album’s fourth single, “Jesus Walks” revealed another side of the singer, showing his deep interest in faith and christainity.
As a result of this, Kanye West was questioned by interviewers on his faith, he responded by saying: “I will say that I’m spiritual. I have accepted Jesus as my Savior. And I will say that I fall short every day.”
In an interview with Fader in 2008, West stated:
“I’m like a vessel, and God has chosen me to be the voice and the connector.”
Speaking with an online magazine, Bossip in 2009, kanye said he believed in God but will never belong to any religion.
Even with all of this declarations, West actions and music never really displayed the christain life and passion for Jesus Christ.
Kanye West becomes born again
Early 2019, Kanye West aka “YE” on twitter, re-affirmed his christian faith.
In September 2019, his reality tv star wife, Kim Kardashian West, who is very vocal on the media, about her husband’s career and spiritual journey said Kanye started his new spiritual journey to heal himself and he is born again.
In October 2019, West said “I tried serving multiple gods , the god of money, god of pride and ego, but it drove me crazy, i never knew what it meant to be saved, but now i love Jesus Christ and christainity”.
West released a gospel album “Jesus is King” on 25th October 2019. He revealed that he will be totally involved in the production and performance of only gospel music from henceforth. “No more secular music”, Kanye says.
West who is an enterprenuer and heavily involved in designing Fashion products, went on to reveal that all his innovations from henceforth will announce Christ. His clothes, shoes and other fashion accessories will display scriptures from the Holy Bible. “I am in complete service to God. I am a christain everything” he said.
Kim Kardashian West reacts to husband’s new spiritual journey
Kim Kardashian West is fully in support of her husband’s faith, however not really in support of all his new decisions especially concerning her choice of clothes and that of their kids.
Kanye said “I never realise that that was affecting my spirit and soul as someone that’s married, the father of four kids. A corset is a form of underwear. It’s hot. it’s hot for who, though?”
Kim never agreed to this, clearly stating that she understands his concerns because of his new path, however she isn’t sure of being on that path.
“You built me up to be this sexy and have confidence. Just because you’re on your journey and currently being transformed, doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you.” Kim said.
While promoting her KKW beauty line, in an interview conducted recently, Kim revealed there had been fights in their home over North West, their daughter who already loves make up like her mum.
“North wants to get in on the makeup but she’s restricted because her dad has stopped all makeup for her until she is a teenager,” Kim revealed, adding that the discussion resulted in a big fight.
“The kids are getting older, Kanye’s very cautious about what we have in the house, we removed TVs in the kids’ rooms and also got rid of the makeup in North’s room,” Kim said.
Kim Kardashian West says she is supportive of her husband’s faith, because he is setting a good example for their kids, however, she is always going to be herself.
Jesus Walks
Jesus is currently walking in Kanye’s life, but how long will this be? Considering, his former passion for secular music and relationship with past associates. His fashion crazy wife Kim and her family “the Kardashians”, his young daughter’s love for fashion and the limelight.
Kanye West to run for president
West has also revealed his plans to run for president in 2024.
