Liverpool extends their gap on the top of the EPL table

Firmino’s 29th minute goal helped Liverpool to a 1-0 victory away at Tottenham. Liverpool has extended their gap on the EPL Table.

 

This makes it Liverpool’s 20th win in 21 league games breaking Pep Guardiola’s Man city record in 2018/19 season where they got 59 points in 21 premier league games.

 

Liverpool are now 16 points clear on the top of the league table with a game in hand.
The league looks to have been wrapped up by Liverpool already but Jurgen Klopp seems not to be satisfied yet.

“Our lead is not really interesting, the moment we have so many points that nobody can catch us anymore, that’s when I’ll be interested” the German told Sky Sports.

 

 

Elsewhere in the English Premier League, Chelsea and Manchester United return back to winning ways while Arsenal could only settle for a draw after Aubameyang saw red for a bad challenge on Max Meyer.

 

After several defeats at home in the Premier League, Chelsea finally get back on track with a 3-0 victory against Burnley which saw Jorginho Abraham and Odoi getting on the score sheet.

The Red Devils were all over Norwich at Old Trafford, which saw Rashford grabbing a brace with Martial and Greenwood also getting their names on the score sheet in United’s 4-0 win against Norwich. After scoring twice, Rashford was subbed off and the young sensation, Greenwood, sealed the victory for Manchester United.

Aubameyang who scored the first goal against Crystal Palace in the London detby, was sent off later on after a horrible tackle on Max Meyer. Palace equalized with Andre Ayew’s strike that had a strong deflection on David Luiz which saw the ball bounce over the goalkeeper and into the net to make it 1-1 early on in the second half.

 

Leicester who smashed Southampton 9-0 in the St Mary’s stadium couldn’t emulate the same performance today in their home ground. Danny Ings who is in superb form sealed the victory for the Saints in their 2-1 win against Leicester.

 

Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton defeated Brighton by one goal to nil in their afternoon fixture at Goodison Park Richarlison’s 38th min strike was enough to secure the win.

 

Wolves could only settle for a draw against Newcastle despite Dedoncker’s equalizer at the 14th min to cancel out Almiron’s opener.

 

Man city will be taking on Aston Villa tomorrow at 17:30(WAT), while Bournemouth will be hosting Watford at 14:30(WAT).
