Casemiro brace guides Madrid to the top of LA Liga
Casemiro scored twice as Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 2-1 in an exciting encounter. The Brazilian broke the deadlock at the 57th minute after receiving a clever back-heel pass from Luka Jovic then chipping the ball over the Sevilla goalkeeper Vaclik.
Sevilla equalised soon after with De Jong collecting a lose ball and curling it into the net. Although, there was controversy with this goal but after consulting the VAR the goal stood.
After much pressure by the host team, Casemiro could get on an header from a Lucas Vasquez cross to restore the lead for Madrid. With Madrid being up at 2-1 they were still finding a way to get a third with Vinicius Jr causing a lot of problems on the left wing, but they weren’t that fortunate.
With the match ending at 2-1 to Madrid, the Los Blancos side are three points clear of Barcelona who has an outstanding game.
