“These past weeks have been a learning curve for me”- Funke Akindele finally speaks after arrest
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, has broken her silence after being prosecuted by the government of Lagos State.
Funke, popularly known as Jenifa in the comic series, Jenifa’s diary, was arrested, charged to court and convicted by the state government for breaking the social distancing rule when she hosted a birthday party for her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, aka JJC Skills.
The actress and her husband were sentenced to 14-day community service and fined N100,000 each.
Popular singer, Naira Marley also attended the party held at Amen Estate.
The actress said she has learnt a lot from her ordeals during the trial and prosecution.
In a video she shared on Instagram on Sunday, which was to sensitise her followers, she said: “These past few weeks have been a learning curve but we must keep moving forward.
“My dear friends, coronavirus is real. We must collaborate with the Lagos State Government and Federal Government by staying at home, staying safe”
