NIPC plans to collaborate with Bayelsa State Investment Promotion Agency to improve the state’s economy

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, on 7th November, 2020 received a delegation from the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) at Government House, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The delegation was led by executive secretary of NIPC, Ms. Yewande Sadiku.

The visit was to foster a collaboration which will eventually attract investments to the state.

NIPC intends to direct private investments to opportunities in Bayelsa which will result in a boost in the state’s economy.

Governor Douye Diri stated that one of his visions for Bayelsa is to industrialize the state and he is committed to providing an enabling environment for this to happen. He is seeking for greater collaboration between the state Investment Promotion Agency and NIPC.

Present in the meeting were the commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Honourable Stanley Braboke, the special adviser on investment, Honourable Dr. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite, the technical adviser on public/private partnership, Mrs. Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown and the Special Adviser to the on Small & Medium Scale Enterprise, Chief Victor Sam-Ateki

NIPC is a Federal Government Agency in Nigeria established in 1995 to co-ordinate, promote and monitor all investments in Nigeria. NIPC Co-ordinates, encourage and provide necessary assistance and direction for the operation of enterprises in Nigeria. It also support measures which increases the investment climate in the country for both Nigerian and non-Nigerian investors.

NIPC also advises the government on policy matters which includes fiscal measures designed to increase Nigeria’s industrialization and the economy’s development.
