Akin Monehin is a Business Transformation Manager at Shell for more than a decade. He is a columnist with top Nigerian newspapers; Business Day and The Guardian.

He has several years experience from diverse economic sectors/sub-sectors including Deepwater Oil & Gas Exploration, Conventional Oil & Gas Exploration & Production, Gas to Liquid (GtL) business, Liquefied Natural Gas business, Civil Aviation & Primary Education.
EDUCATION
Akin had his MBA at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2013. He obtained Executive Education, Petroleum Engineering for Non-Engineers from University of Dundee.
He is an alumnus of University of Lagos with BSc (Hons), Economics.
AKIN MONEHIN As SNEPCo Transformation Manager
Akin As SNEPCo Transformation Manager, he is a member of the Senior Management Team (SNEPCo Leadership Team) and he provides strategic support & perspective to the SNEPCo MD/CEO on his accountability to deliver their cash promise to shareholders.
He is accountable for driving improved business performance, translating into delivery of additional 10% increase (USD150 million, approx NGN60 billion) in Free Cashflow (FCF) from running Royal Dutch Shell’s Deepwater business in Nigeria.
Shell’s Deepwater business in Nigeria includes Shell-operated Bonga Floating Production Storage & Offloading vessel (FPSO) and the ExxonMobil-operated Erha Floating Production Storage & Offloading vessel (FPSO) which has Shell’s 44% interest. Additionally, given the complexity & dynamism of the global oil & gas market, Akin’s role drives the business on a strategic journey to be Fit-for-the-Future, beating competitors in the industry.
His role integrates different areas of the business, including Production Operations, Exploration, Wells Operations, Wells Reservoir Facilities Management (WRFM)/Asset Optimisation and Deepwater Projects, for cash delivery to Royal Dutch Shell, the Nigerian national oil company (NNPC) and Co-Venturers (ExxonMobil, Chevron & Total).
SNEPCo, Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company, a 100% Shell-owned company, pioneered the advance into Nigeria’s Deepwater frontier, where no concerted exploration effort had previously taken place.
SNEPCo’s flagship asset, Bonga, is located 120km off the coast of Nigeria and is a prime asset to Nigeria & Royal Dutch Shell, having consistently delivered over USD1 billion (approx NGN400 billion) annually in FCF in the last three (3) years.
