Serena Williams breaks down in tears after losing Australian open semi final to Naomi Osaka
Serena Williams could hardly believe she lost the game as she broke down in tears in her press conference after losing the Australian Open Semi-final to 23-year old Naomi Osaka.
She lost the match in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in the Australian Open semi-final at Rod Laver Arena earlier today.
The 39-year-old is still one grand slam behind Margaret Court’s all-time tennis record of 24 women’s Grand Slam singles titles.
Howbeit, She failed to reach the final again at the Australian Open.
An emotional Williams was asked some questions in her post match press conference but she left in tears.
In one of the questions she was asked she said,
“If I ever say farewell,” she replied with a smile, “I wouldn’t tell anyone.”
When the next question returned the conversation to the subject of Williams’ many mistakes Thursday (Wednesday night EST) — twice as many unforced errors, 24, as winners, 12 — she shook her head, teared up, said, “I’m done,” and suddenly walked out of the session with reporters.
On Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. local time (3:30 a.m. EST), Osaka will meet first-time Grand Slam finalist Jennifer Brady of the United States for the championship. The 22nd-seeded Brady, who is from Pennsylvania and played college tennis at UCLA, prevailed in an epic, 18-point last game to edge No. 25 Karolina Muchova 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in the semifinals.
Naomi Osaka has won many titles, below are her recent achievements,
Grand Slam Singles

R16 in 2019
In one of her press conferences, the Japanese revealed that her sister, Mari was the one who pushed her into sports.
“She’s the person who pushed me when we were little. I had no drive at all. So, just hitting with her every day gave me something to look forward to and just for her to be so artistic and for us to in a way do everything together. That’s why I go to her for most of my projects and she helps me out a lot. I think that’s the least I can do to repay her,” she said.
