“40 is not the deadline for one to be successful, stop age-shaming people”- Toke Makinwa says
Popular controversial media personality, Toke Makinwa is wondering why Nigerians see people who have clocked the age of 40 without any achievement as people who are unfortunate in life. She wondered why people feel a woman must get wealthy before the age of 40
She shared her thought through her twitter account.
She tweeted,
“When did growing older become an insult??? Like, Nigerians will use everything to insult you. Don’t go and marry, you can’t keep a man, don’t go and born, keep cruising till you reach 40, like is 40 the deadline??? I’m not understanding”.
In another post, she said old age is for everyone and so those who want to insult people with their ages should take note that they will also age someday.
“Everyone will age, 40 is the new 20. The next time you want to age shame anyone remember that you will age too or do you want to die young???” she tweeted.
Toke had recently said she hopes to be a billionaire before she clocks 40, she is currently 36years old and is hopeful her dreams will come to pass.
