NDU student dies after being shot by unknown man on campus (Graphic Pictures/Video)
A young man identified as James Ogumakpeye, who is a 200 level student of the Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma, Bayelsa State has allegedly been shot in the head at close range in the school premises few hours ago.
Sources said the gory incident happened in front of the Faculty of the Management Sciences at the new campus of the Bayelsa State-owned university.
The cause of the attack on Ogumakpeye or who was responsible for the attack is not immediately known as of the time of filing in this report but some students at the NDU said it must have been suspected cultists who carried out the act.
The Public Relations Officer of the school, Edoni Ngezi, who confirmed the incident to Nigerdeltaconnect, via a telephone chat, said the victim, James Ogumakpeye, a 200-level was immediately rushed to the Sick Bay of the university.
Ngezi said it is not immediately clear if the victim was dead or still alive as he was yet to hear from the school’s security men who took him to the hospital.
The incident happened some hours after the deceased finished a test. The killer is said to have stormed the campus in a black outfit.
