Ruth Kadiri’s husband surprised her when she got home from work yesterday.
Recall that the actress complained bitterly on Instagram that despite her hardwork in the film industry in Nigeria, she was Overlooked by MO Abudu and the other award organisers .
Her words:
” I will not be pressured. I will keep working hard. @lagosstategovt @moabudu @ijayonah @nifsummit thanks for overlooking me and congrats to everyone who got recognized. 🎤 the film industry is controlled by women, so if you’re going to do it, do it right or don’t do it at all”
Her colleague, Zainab Balogun however told her she went against the grain, which means she has not been doing what is expected of her as an actress and filmmaker.
She wrote:
“It’s so easy to feel overlooked when you go against the grain. Congratulations to all the winners”
Ruth’s husband however reacted differently to the whole situation. He bought his wife a bottle of Guinness drink immediately she got home from work, telling her that is her award.
