Actress Iyabo Ojo Sues Yomi Fabiyi For Defamation

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has sued actor Yomi Fabiyi over his defamatory posts.

A day ago, Yomi Fabiyi led a protest to Panti Police station demanding his colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyinka popularly known as Baba Ijesha is released on bail. He stated that detaining Baba Ijesha is an abuse of human rights.

 

In the placards and banners he carried with fellow protesters, there were different inscriptions such as ‘denial of bail of bail of bailable offence is human rights violation’, ‘Nigeria police, please allow the law to dictate to you, not Iyabo Ojo, Princess and co’, ‘release Baba Ijesha’, and ‘Nigeria police must respect human rights and honour bail for bailable offence’.

The actress has sued Yomi over the mention of her name in the placards. She is demanding an immediate retraction of defamatory publication, a public apology and payment of N100 million in damages.

Iyabo Ojo’s lawyers, The Maverick Forte Legal, have warned that the demand must be met within 14days else a legal proceedings will come into full force.
