The Church Authorities state that this is a direct fall out from the unfortunate statement of the present commissioner of police in Ogun State, Edward Ajogun, when he opined that the Certificates of Occupancy and Governors Consent obtained from OgunState Government by the Church in respect of the Church’s 522 Acres is not a “proof ” that the Church is the “Owner” of the land.

In meetings between representatives of the Church and the land grabbers in the office of the Ogun State Commissioner of Police in Eleweran , Abeokuta, in March and April 2021, the commissioner of police made the uncharitable comments which emboldened the landgrabbers the more, to continue with their uncharitable act.

As unfortunate as the statement is, this became the ” Catalyst and elixir the landgrabbers and landspeculators needed to continue to perpetuate their Criminal Trespass on the land of the Church.

The Church authorities in its usual way of adhering strictly to due process, has decided to take the matter up with the Police Hierarchy in the coming days and weeks.
