“It’s my baby girl’s birthday 💃🏽💃🏽. Happy birthday mummy @ebere.asogwa
Before I type further, I want to announce that I’m up for adoption because of slide 8🏃🏾♀️.
Dear mother, I now live on the island and a lot of things that happened while I was growing up have become clear. I now understand you’ll come home to Abule Egba all the way from VI, exhausted and it’ll piss you of that we disorganized the living room, cracked the tv, didn’t wash plate or one of those mischievous acts of mine. Most things make sense now. I see the work you put into training my siblings and I. I appreciate you always and will forever.
I’ve been taught to never forget where I come from but aim to be at the best place. From you I learnt patience, contentment, prioritizing peace and loving unconditionally. From you I learnt to be free and unapologetic. I have learnt that, to own your inner child isn’t an absence of growth. I’ve also learnt to grow without pressure but do so by the second. I have understood that I’m to care for every child like I’ll do mine. I’ve learnt a thousand things but most of all, I’ve learnt that to be a good girl and understand that my mistakes, people, and the world shouldn’t change me for bad.
You are the strongest woman I know. One that has taught me to respect but not fear. One that made me understand that I can walk into any office as long as I build myself and know who I am.
When she realized that wires, spatulas , brooms , deliverance , cane that’s my size ,slaps , and raising voice stopped scaring me as I got used to them, she used soft words , good listening and 50 50 method 🤣 (“if this is what you want, this is what I want too, Let’s meet half way”). I learnt that way.
As you celebrate today, may joy never depart from you. May long life, good health and good people be your portion. I love you so much and I’m more than proud to be your daughter. Even with your every hour long calls and WhatsApp broadcasts 😒, I love you.
