London outfit, Tottenham Hotspurs, have sacked their Portuguese coach, Nuno Espirito Santo.

This was contained in a statement released by the club saying that Nuno, along with coaching staff Ian Cathro, Rui Barbosa and Antonio Dias, have all been relieved of their duties.

Spurs managing director, Fabio Paratici, said: “I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take this decision.

“Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.”

It appears that the 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester United was the last straw to break the camel’s back.  Before the clash, the match was term “el sackiko as both clubs have been in a poor run of form recently.

The red devils were hammered by Liverpool 5 goals to nothing and every supporter of Manchester United had called for the sack of Ole Solskjaer for the embarrassing defeat. To save his job, the Norwegian changed formation as he used five defenders at the back and his side defeated Tottenham three goals to nil as Christain Ronaldo, Edison Cavani and Marcus Rasford all had their names on the score sheet

Nuno Espirito Santo was relieved of his job by Tottenham after spending only four months in charge and Antonio Conte is now sidelined as a possible replacement.

It could be recalled that Nuno was appointed to replace fellow Portuguese countryman, Jose Mourinho.
Tottenham are presently ten points adrift of Premier league leaders just after ten games.
