Justice For Sylvester Oromoni: Lagos orders the indefinite closure of Dowen College

The Lagos State Government has ordered the indefinite closure of Dowen College, Lekki, pending the outcome of an investigation into the d*ath of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a student of the school.

The 12-year-old boy d*ed after he was allegedly b*aten by his fellow students over his refusal to join their cult.

Commissioner for Education Mrs Folasade Adefisayo announced the closure, on Friday, December 3, after a meeting with the School Management and Staff.

 

She called for calm, saying no effort would be spared in getting to the root of the incident.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs, of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, Ganiu Lawal.

The statement read,

The Lagos State Government has ordered the indefinite closure of Dowen College, Lekki, pending the outcome of an investigation into the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a student of the school.

“Commissioner for Education Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo announced the closure after a meeting with the School Management and Staff.

“The Commissioner called for calm, saying no effort will be spared in getting to the root of the incident.”
