Chioma shared a little of her story on social media. According to the singer, there were times in her life when she could not afford to eat without collecting food items on credit. Most times she bought a cup of rice on credit and could not pay for days.
Back then, she was constantly facing shame. She was the eldest of seven children, and they were orphans. she had to see to the welfare of her younger siblings till they could stand on their feet and handle their responsibilities themselves.
According to her, the turning point in her life was when she yielded to God’s call and started singing.
In the early days, it wasn’t rosy because she was in the habit of ministering for free instead of charging for any of her appearance. When her band members threatened to quit, she said she consulted God and started charging for ministering.
When she started her Chioma Jesus charity foundation, she could only give out fifty wrappers but now, God has blessed her so much that she can give out 2000 wrappers at once without her feeling it.
Sharing the video on her social media platform, she wrote:
“This year you will never look like what you have been through. Okemmuo will supply everything you need more than your expectations. I remember those days when i buy 2 cups of rice on credit and i could not pay the money i was insulted and humiliated but today my story has changed. look up to God for that change this season…..
