Cristiano Ronaldo announces death of his newborn twin son

Popular footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo and his, girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez has announced the death of their newborn son.

It could be recalled that October 28,2021, the couple announced that they are expecting twins. Sadly, one of the twins died during birth.

The sad news was shared by Ronaldo and Rodriguez in a joint statement posted to their social media accounts on Monday 18 April.

The statement reads in parts;

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.

Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”

The couple also used the opportunity to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and medical staff for “all their expert care and support”.

“We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.

Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.” they said.
