“We Need $33 Billion To Support Ukraine In Russian War”- President Biden

President Biden has asked the Congress to approve an additional $33 billion to continue to support Ukraine.

According to CNBC, on Thursday, Biden says the money will go to funding humanitarian and military aid in Ukraine through September of this year. Among the $33 billion that has been requested, $20.4 billion would be for additional security and military assistance. The money will also go to U.S. efforts of supporting European security along with the other NATO allies.

Biden said in his request, “It’s not cheap. But caving to aggression is going to be more costly if we allow it to happen. We either back the Ukrainian people as they defend their country, or we stand by as the Russians continue their atrocities and aggression in Ukraine every day.” Aside from helping with security and military assistance, $8.5 billion would be used to help support Ukraine’s economy..”
