Actor, Deyemi Okanlawon recounts how his role in Netflix’s, ‘Blood Sisters’ affected him for months
Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon has revealed how his role in the Netflix blockbuster series, Blood sisters affected his mental health.
The movie, Blood Sisters tells the story of two friends, Sarah (Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi (Nancy Isime), who are actually not sisters by blood.
Sarah, an average Igbo girl, is set to marry the wealthy heir to the Ademola throne, Kola Ademola (Deyemi Okanlawon). Some people believe that the couple was a match made in heaven.
However, in reality, this dream union is more of a nightmare Kola Ademola turned out to be a domineering jerk and abusive partner. He has the habit of knacking women violently.
Speaking about his ordeal months after acting the role of an abusive partner in Blood Sisters, Deyemi Okanlawon said ‘Kola Ademola’ definitely affected him more than he care to admit and it took months to get to a semblance of normalcy.
According to him, he caught himself going against his standards.
In his words;
“Kola Ademola definitely affected me more than I care to admit and it took months to get to a semblance of normalcy. Strangely while I still firmly believe aggression should be met with justice, I now empathize with ppl who carry such demons #BloodSisters #BloodSistersNetflix”
