“My Gender. Jealousy Has Eaten Deep Into You All” – Nkechi Blessing Slams Women Who Are Against Tonto Dikeh’s Political Ambition
Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has shown support for her friend and colleague, Tonto Dikeh over her political career.
It could be recalled that on Friday, June 24, the actress announced that she will be contesting for deputy governor of Rivers State.
King Tonto lists out the things she would be focusing on during her time in power as she urges her fans to get their PVC.
She wrote;
“I thank Mr Tonte Ibray, the Governship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rivers State for nominating me as his running mate.
We are looking forward to investing massively in social protection, creating a social value system for young people, increased women inclusion in our governance system supporting small businesses and strengthening our traditional institutions to be active players in the drive to bring sustainable development to the good people of Rivers State.
I am glad to be a proud member of the #RiversRescueMission2023 Please get your PVC and join the movement. You are Future and The Future is now!”.
However, after she made this announcement, some people dragged the actress over the controversies surrounding her life. They were of the opinion that she is not fit to run for any political seat.
Reacting to this, Nkechi Blessing slams such people as she shows support for Tonto Dikeh.
The actress pointed out how Nigerians were screaming for change yet Tonto Dikeh took a bold step to make the change and the same Nigerians screaming for change are the ones dragging her.
She wrote;
“They said they want a change, something new and different…then a woman took a bold step, check the comments na fellow women they drag her… My gender. Jealousy have eaten deep into you that you can’t even hide anymore.. I hope you all get well soon.
I am that woman that supports another woman that is why I am successful”.
However a fan identified as @Adenikeobaoye insisted that Tonto Is not fit for the position she is contesting for.
She wrote;
“Was it not just week weeks ago she was threatening to beat a woman old enough to be her mother (Kemi Olunloyo)? What kind of leadership example is that from her? This is not about Jealousy but sanity!!!!”
In response, Nkechi said;
“If i reply you wetin dey my mind ehn. Let me just pass!!!”
