Popular talk show host, Wendy Williams has provided an update on her disease, Lymphedema.
Lymphedema is the build-up of fluid in soft body tissues when the lymph system is damaged or blocked. The lymph system is a network of lymph vessels, tissues, and organs that carry lymph throughout the body
Back in 2019, Wendy revealed her diagnosis after pap pictures showed her swollen ankles. Back then, the broadcaster also revealed that she suffered from Graves’ disease, which results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones.
Speaking about her disease during an interview with TMZ on Tuesday (June 28), Wendy Williams revealed that she only has “maybe five percent” feeling left in her feet amid her battle with lymphedema.
She also lifted up her swollen leg to demonstrate her current physical condition.
According to her, it’s gotten worse since stepping down from The Wendy Williams Show, which ended on June 17.
“Do you see this? [My foot] is up and down. I can only feel maybe five percent of my feet, do you understand?” she explained while lifting it.
However, the 57-year-old stated that she doesn’t need a wheelchair to move around and can “stand up” on her own as she’s doing “better than” anyone “physically”.
Speaking further, Wendy confirmed that she was “100 percent retired” from her talk show. However, she added that she would be willing to guest host for The View sometime.
On remaining in the spotlight, the writer said that while she will no longer be on TV, she will be producing her own podcast.
“When you’re famous, podcasts will make more money for me, being famous, than doing The Wendy Williams Show.” She replied.
