“My Song With Fireboy Is The Best Selling Record In England” – Ed Sheeran Reveals (Video)

English singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran has revealed that his collaboration with Nigerian crooner, Fireboy DML, is the biggest Afrobeats song in the world.

The multi award-winning artiste was talking about the remix of Fireboy’s hit single, ‘Peru’ and how he felt working on the project.

 

Ed Sheeran made this revelation during a radio interview on ‘The Breakfast Club’ as he also said that Peru is the best selling record in England.

 

 

According to the music star, sadly the friend who linked him up with the Nigerian Afrobeats singer passed away in February.

He also said that ‘Peru remix’ is the second biggest selling song of the year, and he never knew that it would be as big as it has become.

 

On the other hand, Adedamola Adefolahan, better known as Fireboy DML, has revealed that at the start of his career, he always asked God to give him an album like that of Wizkid’s debut album ‘Superstar’.

 

He made this known while chatting with UK-based broadcaster, Adesope Olajide about the release of his own debut album, Laughter Tears and Goosebumps.

 

When Adesope asked him if he knew or believed that LTG would be a classic success, Fireboy explained that he was scared and doubtful because the album after he had released only two singles.

 

He further said that he used to ask God to give him an album like Superstar by Afrobeats singer, Wizkid.

 

The ‘Peru’ hitmaker also revealed that the heartbreak stories he told with the songs on LTG were that of people whose heart he broke, adding that the love stories were that of those he watched.

 

He went on to reveal that he finally decided to tell his own story on his sophomore album, titled, Apollo.
