Singer, Asake Releases Statement As One Of The Injured Women, Rebecca Ikumelo, At His UK Concert Dies

One of the three women , Rebecca Ikumelo, critically injured at Asake’s Brixton concert, has sadly passed on.

Rebecca Ikumelo, 33, from Newham, east London, died in hospital this morning after being critically injured in the crush, which unfolded during Asake’s concert on Thursday.

The Metropolitan Police said two other women, aged 21 and 23, remain in a critical condition. Asake has said he is ‘praying’ for those injured.

The London concert has been cancelled over insecurity reasons.

 

The “Terminator” crooner was supposed to hold his last leg of his London show, on Thursday night, at 02 Academy Brixton in London before the incident happened.

 

According to reports, two concert-goers were reportedly stabbed outside of the venue as a multitude of people struggled to get through into the venue.

 

In a video which has been making rounds online, cameras captured the moment when police officers walked up the stage to address the crowd. The police officer stated that over 3,000 people were standing outside and freezing under the cold with more congested inside the auditorium too.
