Nollywood Actress Gbemi Anjola Passes On After A Prolong B@ttle With C@ncer

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Gbemi Anjola, a talented and fast-rising Nollywood actress. Gbemi’s battle with ovarian cancer has been long and arduous, and despite her valiant efforts to fight the disease, she passed away on Friday, the 24th of March, 2023, at the young age of 33.

According to reports, Gbemi was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021, and subsequently traveled to Dubai for chemotherapy, which lasted for about six months. Despite the challenges she faced, she was able to overcome the disease and returned to Nigeria cancer-free. However, her health took a turn for the worse when she began experiencing memory loss and headaches about a month ago, and was promptly taken to the hospital for check-ups.

Sadly, Gbemi’s condition worsened, and she once again complained of a headache around 7 pm on Friday, the 25th of March, 2023. She was rushed to the hospital, but despite the efforts of medical professionals, she was pronounced dead.

“She underwent chemotherapy for around six months in Dubai and returned cancer-free. But she has been complaining of headaches and memory loss for the past month, so we rushed her to the hospital.I told her we didn’t need to publicise it and that we could make arrangements privately. They claimed she would need one glass and some medications, which would cost roughly N500k.

She was very healthy yesterday, but about 7 o’clock she started experiencing headaches once more and was taken to the hospital, where she later died”, Her colleague revealed

The loss of Gbemi Anjola is a great tragedy not just for her family and friends, but also for the Nigerian film industry and her fans. Her talent and potential as an actress were evident in her work, and she will be remembered fondly for the joy she brought to those who watched her on screen.
