Nollywood Actor, Saint Obi, Reportedly Passes On After A Brief Illness (Detail)

Popular Nigerian actor, Saint Obi, has reportedly passed on at the age of 57 after a protracted illness.

It was reported that he died early in the week after battling an undisclosed illness for several with no successful treatment.

According to blogger Moji Delano, a source disclosed that the actor, who he had seen a couple of times and recognized as Saint Obi, had di£d on Sunday and that the following day, his body was taken to the morgue at JUTH. This was after a visit his sister’s residence in Jos.

Saint Obi is said to have recently relocated to his sister’s home in Jos, the capital of the Plateau State, and has frequently been spotted being transported to the hospital. The fact that Mr. Obi was frequently spotted in the hospital was also confirmed by a source at JUTH.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria is yet to make a statement as the family reportedly have a little disagreement hence the delay to make a formal announcement.

The Imo-born thespian before his demise had featured in over 100 movies.

Beyond his acting career, Saint Obi made significant contributions to the industry as a film producer and director, helping shape the Nollywood landscape. Though he had stepped back from acting in recent years, his impact on the Nigerian film industry remains undeniable.
