Award winning Nollywood actress , Destiny Etiko has appealed to her colleagues in the entertainment industry to learn how to communicate without speaking Yoruba.
In a video she shared on her Instagram page, Destiny Etiko urged her Yoruba colleagues not to speak their dialect when they are addressing the public, adding that even if they cannot speak English they can use the Nigeria Lingua Franca , Pidgin as a means of communication.
In her words;
“I don’t just know why if one is speaking with Yoruba people they always speak Yoruba”.
“When you are addressing the public you don’t need to speak your dialect because not everyone understands your dialect”.
“Even if you cannot speak English, you can speak broken English that everybody understands”.
