I just saw on someone’s stories that today is #InternationalMensDay and I NEEEED to shout out my man @Gedoni before the day is up!! A quick story time but when I became a mother to two boys back to back, so many people asked me oh don’t you want a girl, don’t you want a girl and the actual truth was that I was secretly so happy to be a boy mum. The thought of having a girl child really scared me.

I just felt like it is so much harder to be a woman in this world and I felt like boys would be less work. BOY (pun intended) was I wrong lol. But genuinely, it is in seeing my man work day in day out to lead and provide for his family without complaining, and the pressure that is on so many men’s shoulders to just suck things up and keep things moving because the world doesn’t afford men the same grace to indulge in self care, that I realised life isn’t easy for men either.

So I just want to shout out all the men on this day and say we see you. Thank you for your sacrifices, thank you for your strength and I want to say it is okay to not be okay. Yes you are strong but guess what it takes true strength to speak up when you need help or when you just need a little boost! You don’t have to have everything figured out 24/7 and the weight of the world that is on your shoulders doesn’t have to be lifted by you alone.
