Hip-Hop Mogul Diddy Arrested in New York Amid Federal S3x Trafficking Investigation
Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been arrested in New York amid an ongoing s3x trafficking investigation. The American rapper and music executive was taken into custody on Monday, September 16, at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan by Homeland Security Investigations agents at around 8:15 p.m., following an indictment by a grand jury.
While the indictment remains sealed and the specific charges have not been publicly disclosed, Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, believes his client is facing allegations of racketeering and s3x trafficking. In a statement, Agnifilo expressed disappointment with the decision of the U.S. Attorney’s Office to pursue the case, asserting, “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs.”
Combs’ arrest follows a federal investigation that became public on March 25, when Homeland Security agents executed simultaneous raids on his mansions in Los Angeles and Miami. The arrest has sparked further attention due to a series of lawsuits filed against Combs alleging s3xual assault and abuse.
The investigation gained momentum last November when Diddy’s former protégé and ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, filed a lawsuit accusing him of years of abuse, including b3atings, r@pe, and s3x trafficking. In her suit, Cassie detailed allegations of forced s3xual acts across multiple jurisdictions and claimed that Combs coerced her into aiding his s3x trafficking activities. Though the lawsuit was settled the following day, Combs later issued an apology after a video surfaced showing him allegedly assaulting Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016.
Cassie’s lawsuit was just the beginning; at least half a dozen more suits have followed, painting a troubling picture and raising further questions about Combs’ conduct. The hip-hop mogul’s arrest is a significant development in this ongoing federal investigation.
