However, Buku Abi didn’t elaborate on the traumatic experience with her father; she revealed that she informed her mother about the abuse.
According to Buku Abi, she initially grappled with shame and embarrassment, struggling to come to term with the traumatic experience.
Her hesitation to confide in her mother reflected the complex emotions that often accompany abuse.
“He was my everything. For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe it happened. I was too scared to tell anyone, including my mom”, She said.
