“Please Forgive Me, I Have Missed the Industry”- Nkechi Blessing Apologizes at Celebrities Entertainment Award in Canada (VIDEO)
Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday took the stage at The Celebrities Entertainment Award, making a public appeal for forgiveness after her 2021 suspension by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).
The actress, who had been suspended alongside her colleague Lege Miami following a heated social media exchange, addressed the controversy with evident remorse. “Please forgive me, I have missed the industry,” Nkechi pleaded, acknowledging her absence from Yoruba movie sets over the past two years.
Nkechi’s suspension, which became a major industry headline, stemmed from her refusal to heed TAMPAN’s disciplinary measures. The conflict had begun when she criticized Lege Miami’s public sympathy for actor Baba Ijesha, who was facing allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor.
While Lege Miami eventually apologized for his role in the spat, Nkechi had previously called TAMPAN’s suspension “a bluff.”
