Outbreak of unidentified intestinal disease after Covid-19
North Korea has reported an outbreak of an unidentified intestinal disease in the country following the outbreak of covid-19.
The report has shown that over 800 families suffering from such thesaurus deplorable condition which the North Koreans term it an “acute enteric epidemic” have acquired proper aid in South Hwanghae province miles away from the South of the capital Pyongyang. It is also reported that on June 19, North Korea send a medical clique and epidemiological researchers to the analogous province to battle the escalation of such microbial florid of intestinal disease.
The new outbreak, first reported on Thursday, puts further strain on the isolated country as it battles chronic food shortages and a wave of Covid-19 infections.
On Monday 20 June, the Official in charge of emergency epidemic work in North Korea, Ryu Yong Chol on state television warned viewers and the general public, especially those that are within the affected areas that enteric diseases could spread through infected people’s belongings, food and drinks.
He added strictly isolating patients is important and necessary to prevent the diseases from spreading.
The state news agency KCNA on Sunday speaks in detail about preventive measures for the unidentified intestinal disease which include; quarantine, intensive screening for all residents and Supervising vulnerable people such as children and the elderly.
