Ondo Governor, Akeredolu D!ed After A Prolonged Battle With Leukemia (DETAIL)

Rotimi Akeredolu, the ailing Governor of Ondo state is dead.

The 67-year-old governor who has been battling leukemia and prostate cancer, died in Lagos on Wednesday, December 27.

 

Late Akeredolu was being managed by State House doctors in Lagos as he could not be flown abroad.

 

Recall that the ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany. On December 12, he went on another medical leave after being directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who has since been standing in as acting governor.

 

Late Akeredolu is survived by his wife, Betty, children and grandchildren.
