Super Eagles goal keeper, Stanley Nwabali has penned a heartfelt note to millions of Nigerians after they lost to host country, Cote d’voire at Afcon final last night.
Nwabali wrote on his official instagram page;
A disappointing and frustrating end 😞. I deeply apologise to Nigerians. I was once a fan, still a fan and I understand how it feels giving you a disappointing night. We take full responsibility. Thanks for the whole support till the end. I love you all 🇳🇬
In a related news, Nigerian Rapper, Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has said that he was never impressed by the Nigerian super eagles wins in their AFCON 2023 campaign. He shared this after the host nation Ivory Coast performed an incredible comeback to win the AFCON trophy in their home soil.
The super eagles were the first to score in the game, through captain William Troost Ekong’s Header in the 35th minute of the first half. But the Elephants of Ivory Coast equalized in the second half and later went on to score the winning goal thanks to their striker, Sebastian Haller.
Blaqbonez, taking to his X account, wrote: “Now that we’ve lost, let’s say the truth, we have been sh!t through this whole tournament, anyone that knows football knows, all these fluke äss wins never moved me”.
