“I Am Not Rich, We Don’t Earn Well In Nollywood, Ask These Other Actresses & Producers Where They Got Their Money From” – Bimbo Akintola Speaks Out (VIDEO/DETAILS)
Veteran Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola, has sparked a conversation about the earnings of Nigerian actresses and producers in the entertainment industry.
In a recent Instagram video, the actress shared her candid thoughts on the disparity between the luxurious lifestyles flaunted by some Nollywood stars online and the actual income they make from acting and film production.
According to Bimbo, who has had an illustrious career spanning decades, the paychecks from Nollywood productions are far from impressive.
She revealed that Africa Magic, a popular platform for Nollywood content, typically buys a movie for 1.2 million to 4 million naira, while other platforms offer around 5 million naira.
Bimbo questioned how some of her colleagues manage to acquire expensive cars and luxurious homes, despite these relatively modest earnings from the industry.
“I’m famous, but I’m not rich,” the actress admitted, highlighting that while she enjoys the recognition and respect that come with her fame, it has not translated into substantial wealth.
She urged fans to ask other actresses and producers where their money truly comes from, given that the income from acting alone is insufficient to support the lavish lifestyles seen on social media.
Bimbo’s bold statement has ignited discussions within and outside Nollywood, as many question the true sources of income for some of Nigeria’s most famous stars.
