“Sack all service Chiefs, they lack ideas” – Senators Tells Buhari
Senators have asked the President, Major General Muhammadu (Rtd.), to sack Nigeria’s service chiefs over the growing security problems facing the country.
This was contained in a statement detailing the resolution of the senators after the upper chamber’s plenary on Wednesday.
Earlier, the House of Representatives had asked the service chiefs to resign or be sacked by the retired general.
The senators accused the service chiefs of running out of ideas to tackle security challenges faced by Nigeria.
A copy of the statement obtained by The PUNCH read, “Some Senators who took their turns to speak on the floor during the debate which lasted over three hours, called for the removal of the Service Chiefs who they faulted for running out of ideas on developing strategies needed to address Nigeria’s escalating security problems.
“Other lawmakers, however, threw their weights behind the introduction of Community and State Policing as a remedial alternative to addressing the spate of insecurity in various states of the federation”.
